My Story

Joy and Susanna's 100ks in 30 days

We are aiming to raise £1000 by running (possibly also walking, hopping, crawling) over 30 days from 17th July to 15th August 2020 for Aegis Trust – and we’d love you to support us. This is a challenge for us because we are natural couch potatoes and not runners!

Mum and I would love you to sponsor us because we passionately believe in the work Aegis does. It is saving lives! Through peace-building and education initiatives in east Africa, Aegis encourages communities to change from mindsets of mistrust and prejudice to a position of shared responsibility for peace and stability. Now, Aegis is taking its successful approach to peacebuilding from Rwanda to Central African Republic – and making change there too.

Aegis promotes hope, dignity, compassion and peace through education, which is needed more than ever at this time.

We’d love you to sponsor us £10, £20, whatever you can spare. To really make a difference, please consider a commitment to a monthly amount, because regular giving enables Aegis to plan. £5 a month over 12 months, would support a community leader in a conflict zone to complete a peacebuilding course with Aegis. These powerful programmes have seen previous participants end their plans for revenge killings, give up weapons and reconcile with their neighbours. So they really make a difference on the ground.

Whatever we raise will be matched by the Pears Foundation pound for pound – doubling its value and making it go so much further.

Thank you for your support. You are making a difference with whatever you can give and it is much appreciated.
